Though entry is free, you need to register online in advance and wait for the results to pop up via a lottery system on or before the end of March.

Earth Day Events in DC
If you’re in for a bit of spring cleaning, help clean up the DC act with the Potomac River Watershed Cleanup projects.
These happen almost every weekend in April and spread across a staggering 270+ locations in DC, Maryland and Virginia.

The National Zoo also commemorates Earth Day with special green demonstrations and eco-friendly activities every year. On April 22nd 2017, Earth Day events will occur between 10 am and 2 pm.
This educational event is the official cultural celebration of around 70 embassies based in Washington DC. Passport DC is a month-long event with many tours and sub-events such as the National Asian Heritage Festival (Fiesta Asia).
Based on the embassy, you can experience fusion dance and karate performances, henna art, classical music and authentic international food prepared by embassy chefs.
Embassies participating include those of Mexico, Denmark, France, Bahamas, India, Malta, the UK, Croatia – to name a few.

DC Dragon Boat Festival
The Chinese Women’s League of Washington hosts the annual DC Dragon Boat Festival on the banks of the Potomac. This event is a fast race between boating clubs from across the world, competing in 250m and 500m stretches. The deep Chinese origins of the event are commemorated by calligraphy sessions, paper cutting and other Chinese folk art activities. You can also see authentic Chinese martial arts on the shore line.
