When is the Niagara Falls Closing Season?

The Niagara Falls closing season is usually from October to March. The basin freezes early during the winter. The deep freeze gives really good photo opportunities for photobugs.

You can get really good sights of rainbows and clouds between May and October. In autumn, there are plenty of trails around the gorge that could give you great views and photographs. So almost all year around, Niagara Falls is a great location to visit!

The Maid of the Mist tour usually closes by the end of October. It resumes service as spring comes in during the months of April and May.

The Niagara Falls State Park however is open all through the year.

Many of the jet boat and adventure rides also close early in the year. Please visit their websites and plan your trip.

Ideally, Niagara Falls is to be experienced in spring or summer. The later months make the water really cold and give rise to icy winds.
