Taj Mahal Ticket Rates and Timings
The long way to get the Taj Mahal ticket coupon is to go directly to the monument at dawn. Getting to the Taj as early as possible will help evade much of the tourist and regional traffic both to and at the mausoleum. The weather will be much more bearable.
Plus you could get to see the sunlight shades on Taj’s white resplendent marble turn the entire tomb from a light lotus color to a flaming orange.

Openings timings of the monument are from 6 am to dusk (roughly 6:30 pm). Usually, the queues are long. This makes it imperative to be there even earlier.
Note that the south gate does not open until 8 am and closes by 5 pm. So the east and west gates are your best bets for earliest tickets and the best views. Ask your cabbie, auto rickshaw or horse carriage driver to drop you here.
The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.
The Taj Mahal ticket rate varies according to nationality (a damper if you ask me personally!).
Official Taj Mahal Ticket Rates as per 2017:
Non-Indians: Rs 1000 ($15 approx.)
SAARC and BIMSTEC country citizens: Rs 530 ($8 approx.)
Indian citizen: Rs 40
Entry for children below 15 years of age is free, both Indian and non-Indian. Do remember to carry forms of ID with you.
You can book online to skip queues or ask your hotel for tickets. Most hotels near Agra have tie-ups which could help you here. The Oberoi in Agra is one such hotel, which also provides amazing views of the Taj from its windows.

The Taj Mahal has been featured in many movies and is one of the most loved monuments in India. This is also because of its rich history of love and romance. Click here to read about the love story behind the Taj.
